I got to attend the Roses and More Design Show up in Spokane this past weekend! We had a bunch of fun attending classes, learning about new products, and meeting florists from all over.  And I won two bouquets! I never win anything and to get this giant bouquet of stock, well, I was thrilled!

One of the new products I’m particularly excited about are these tablets specifically made to extend the life of gerbs. The reason I’m especially excited is that you can use them with daffodils and it’ll prevent the daffodils from poisoning the other flowers!  (The milky substance that daffodils leach out is poisonous -you can touch it, don’t worry.  Although if you don’t have theses tablets, you can cut daffodils and let them sit by themselves for a couple hours.  Do not recut.  Then mix them in with other things, in fresh water, and they should be fine.)

I’m also excited to try Arrive Alive foam instead of water tubes!  It’s a thin piece of foam that you wrap around the bottom of bouquets and it has a much longer life span than the water tube.

Mike came with me to all of this which was incredibly kind of him since he was probably one of five guys there, but we got to go eat at PF Changs and see the Hunger Games!
